Akshay Khanna made his acting debut in 1994 at an age of 19. His first film ‘Himalya Putra’ was produced by his father Vinod Khanna that turned out as a failure at the box office. Akshay was next seen in J.P. Dutta’s war epic ‘Border’ released in 1997. The movie featured an ensemble cast including established actors like Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Tabu etc. Akshay’s originality and composure as a performer was appreciated by the critics. ‘Border’ became huge success and Akshay won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award.

Akshay Khanna was next seen in ‘Mohabbat’ alongwith Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Kapoor, the ovie did not fare well at the box office.
